THE BASICS OF NETWORK MARKETING
So what is the big attraction to Network Marketing companies and programmes? Well, it represents a wonderful opportunity for the "little guy" to start his own business on a part time basis and make a whole lot of money! Many earn well into the large 6 figures (over £1,000,000)! How is this possible? The concept is fairly simple. Network Marketing companies offer their products and services through independent distributors who can then recruit other distributors. That way, a distributor can buy the Network Marketing products at a discount and earn money selling the product directly to others. They also earns "overrides" for the distributors that they have sponsored and normally, a distributor also earns "overrides" for several levels that are deep in their organisation. These distributors are called their "downline" or their "organisation". You have probably seen how an organisation can grow, assume that your organisation has 6 levels and you sponsor 5 people, and everyone does likewise

Level 2 25 Distributors
Level 3 125 Distributors
Level 4 625 Distributors
Level 5 3,125 Distributors
Level 6 15,625 Distributors
Total = 19,530 Distributors
Now that is quite a few distributors. If you earned £10 a month for each distributor in your "downline", you would be earning £195,300 a month! So theoretically, you can earn a lot of money! If everything worked perfectly. But it normally doesn't since your downline will not build perfectly. I am going to tell you the way it is in the real NETWORK MARKETING [NM].
YOU MUST BUILD YOUR ORGANISATION WIDE AND DEEP WILL FOLLOW!
Notice that in the above table that you earn your big money on your 6th level and below in some Networking companies. This is called INFINITY BONUS. This where most of your distributors will be if you build a deep organisation, but you MUST train and help your first level! In other words, you must have a method that is duplicable! Your first level people must have a way to help their first level (your 2nd level) and so on. Otherwise your organisation will die on the vine! Most new people in NM make the serious mistake in trying to build their first level wide. That is, they personally want to recruit as many people as they can. Here is how they reason, if they can not or do not want to sell but sponsors enough people on their first level, some of these people will magically sell for them. Bad mistake! If you can not sell the product or service, how can you expect to train others to sell? You have just got to have a duplicable method that you, your people, and their people can use.

The criteria I tell people when choosing the right company are as follows:
(1) Choosing the Right Products or Services
Pick a product you are passionate about or would like
to become passionate about. The most important
consideration when selecting a network marketing
company is the type of products that the company
markets. Does the customer use the product daily,
weekly, monthly, or infrequently? You want a product
with high-frequency consumption. Why? Because it
generates frequent re-orders ... usually on a monthly
basis. Frequent re-orders mean constant, residual
business. Therefore, your business can grow with
fewer customers.
The last thing, once you start this business,
NEVER, EVER QUIT. The reasons are simple,
people that stay with Network Marketing for
the long haul, at least 10 years, have a 95% success rate! That means that they attain the
goals they set for themselves when joining the business.
If that's not enough, then consider this,
if you quit, that,s it. There are upline
sponsors that have quit the business and their
downlines have made fortunes for themselves.
If you quit 1] it's harder to start any type
of future business and 2] if the person you
sponsored goes on to make a fortune you have
missed out. NEVER NEVER QUIT!
(2) Choosing the Right Compensation Plan
There are five or six different and competing systems
that network marketing companies use to reward their
distributors/associates/affiliates. They are the
breakaway, the unilevel, the matrix, the two-up, the
binary , and various hybrid or combination plans.
The most important consideration when choosing a pay
plan is the number of people that the average person
needs to enroll to begin earning income. The lower
the number the better.
(3) Choosing the Right Company and Management Team
As in any industry, the majority of network marketing
businesses fail in the first five years. Therefore,
you need to be extremely careful in selecting a
company that will stand the test of time. The easiest
way to do this is to select only a company that has
a track record of increasing sales and profits for
at least five years. This narrow the field drastically.
On the plus side, if the company you're researching is
public traded, so much the better. It will be easy to
scan financial statements and quarterly earnings
reports. You're looking for a company that is well
managed, solvent, with little or no debt, that has
reached a critical mass of distributors to sustain
growth and that has been around enough to have worked
out all the beginning bugs.
Also, you are in business for yourself, not
by yourself, there should be training and constant
upline support.
(4) HOW LONG DO I SPEND ON MY BUSINESS
You can spend as long as you wish on you business. A rough guide for anyone
In full-tine employment should spend anywhere between 5-10 hours per week
Answering calls, making calls, sending letters and other activities.
The reason for the short amount of time is because most people involved in NM
Are already working full-time and are unable or reluctant to spend anymore time
On their business. If you have more time due to unemployment then use it to
Build your business quicker.
Try to do a little each day because once you get into the habit of doing it, it does
Become easy.
(5) HOW MUCH MONEY CAN YOU EARN?
This depends on the time you wish to spend building your business and the
Compensation plan of the company. The more generous the plan, the more chance
Of you earning your money quicker.
You can earn an infinite amount amount of money in theory, in practice you may at
First be looking at an income in the hundreds. As the business starts to grow and you
Become even more serious you may wish to build it full time.
To do this you need to make sure you have at least replaced your present income, or feel
You are in a position where building the business full time will soon have you earning
More than you would in full-time employment.
Network marketing is the only work I know that can pay you more than ₤50,000 per
Month without any qualifications, and you can retire when you feel you have a sufficient income.
(6) MARKETING & PROMOTION
Network marketing is past the trial and error phase of marketing. Here
You will see what really works.

PERSON TO PERSON
This must be the most unpleasant way to start your business if you have problems
Talking to people. Good news, the old-style NM plans used to promote your
Business by making a list of everyone you know, then invite them to an open evening.
This would have the usual no-shows and would involve showing people a plan
Of the They don’t even understand. You would lose your friends and your confidence
Due to the rejection.
Leave this stage until you have had upline help. You will still have to contact people you know,
how would you feel if you did not, and they were
sponsored by someone else? Pretty crummy eh? One
other thing, never ever decide who to tell and
who not to tell.
The most unlikely people get involved in this,
and make successes of it. Make sure you ask
everyone you know, so that you don;t lose out, and
they don't lose out.

CLASSIFIEDS
If you can create powerful enough ads then this is a cheap and effective way of
Promoting your business and improving customer base and downline numbers.
These are little nuggets that need to be monitored constantly for response. Do it
Right and this will become a core part of your business.

POSTCARDS
You think that no-one reads those little ads in the windows of the newsagents and
At supermarkets? You’re wrong. Just think of these little ads as seeds that you are
Planting for the future.
Make sure you keep advertising using this very cheap method and try to put 2
Adverts in one shop window for effect.
Make sure they look professional, none of that hand-written rubbish you often see.
Use a computer, and in the ads never sell products or offer any information apart
From the prospect of having a butter life and better health, etc.
Use quality paper.

DIRECT MAIL
Probably the most effective way of getting new customers and getting into direct contact
With potential downline. Make sure that you get quality mailing list by approved
Providers. Email is another great way of doing this, as I said though, get the quality
Lists, with no SPAM.
The postal costs of snail mail are a big turn off though. Would always recommend
That every NMer buy a quality list of 500, 1,000 names as often as you can afford.
Try to send the mail on a Friday so that the prospect has the longest amount of
Time to digest the information before going back to their job.
The direct mail letter is very important, get it right and you could have 10% of
People interested, get wrong and you may get 1%.
The purpose of the mailshot is to get people interested by giving them just enough
Information so that they either contact a local/national rate number for more info
Or they contact you asking for that information pack, preferably by email.
It should also weed out any time-wasters by asking THEM to phone a number
That YOU have provided.

LEAFLET ADVERTISING
A scattered version of the direct mail campaign, leaflets are cheap to produce and there are plenty of newspaper and other sources that will deliver them for you. A leaflet is a
Great way of cheaply putting information out there to specific areas. This is worth doing
As often as you can afford. As long as you realise you will get a 1% response most of the time.
[f] INTERNET ADVERTISING
You can try email, free classified ads, paid
ads, search engines bulletin boards, ffas, etc,etc. There's no escaping that this is a
people business. The great thing is though that the online presentation can be viewed 24/7 your presence not required. Make sure you have
links to it on yourwebsite [you must have a website] and in your email the presentation explains the NM concept better than most
people can.

it has the name of the company or any logos i
t must be checked with the company first and approved. No wild misleading claims should be made, the company will not be happy, neither
will I!
Try getting specialist email lists of those people interested in business.
7]THE 3 VITAL STEPS YOU NEED TO TAKE TO ENSURE YOUR PROMOTIONS ONLY GET A RESPONSE FROM INTERESTED PERSONS.
Recruiting can be hard in NM. Why is it so hard? Because outer circle recruitment involves a two, and usually three phase process -- and the first two steps are very tough ones.
Step one is to open the mind of your prospect as to the possibility of just starting a home based business. Based on surveys performed by MarketWave in 1989-91, 85% of all Americans who do not own their own business do have the desire to be entrepreneurs. When polled as to the reasons why they do not pursue this desire, the four most common reasons were: Takes too much money, takes too much time, too much risk, I don't know how. Understand, this means that over 200 million people in the US want to be self employed who are not -- and for reasons that do not apply to network marketing![ How many in the UK?] Nonetheless, these are powerful objections and ones that must be overcome before an outer circle prospect would even consider your opportunity.
Once the prospect has excepted at least the possibility that there might be a type of business which overcomes all of their concerns, you must then "confess," if you will, that it is called network, or multilevel, marketing. At this point, you will very likely have to address the stigma that surrounds this industry and/or at the very least, educate the prospect on what MLM is and how it addresses their entrepreneurial concerns. The greatest challenge here will likely be that what you are proposing will sound too good to be true! This may actually create even more skepticism regarding MLM in general. So step two is to legitimize the industry as a whole.
So to recruit outer-circle prospects, the first step is to open their mind to starting their own business, the second step is to remove all the garbage about MLM that may be in there, and the third step is to then pour new information in -- by finally presenting your specific opportunity. And as I said, steps one and two may be the most difficult to complete.
8]HOW MUCH TO SPEND ON MARKETING AND HOW OFTEN TO DO IT
Network Marketing is similar to conventional business in 1 aspect, you need to let people know that you actuall have a business. Some people will
be customers others will join your team. Nothing
will happen if nobody knows your business is there.
You should be talking to people every day about
the business.
My own recommendation is that reps have at least 3
channels of communication in place. That is, 3 ways
of attracting reps at any 1 tine.
That may be adverts, email, one-2-one, home meetings, etc.
This gives you plenty of chances to find reps using
different methods.
Spend as much as you want to on this, obviously
the more people that know, the more chance of you
sponsoring more.
The great thing about this business though is that fortunes have been made by broke people with no
money to spend on advertising, word-of-mouth is
great, free ads and inexpensive cards. Take your pick.
(9) DUPLICATION
The real money is made using the duplication formula.
You are taught by your upline how to recruit and sponsor and you teach that to your downline. The idea of duplication is that if I am taught how to get a few customers, I can teach you the same.
The Network Marketing business is more of a teaching business in that what i teach you, you then teach your downline, etc, meaning whichever rep you speak to they have been taughet the same way.
This is a simpler version of duplication, the theory emains the same though throughout Network Marketing.
(10) A COMPANY THAT FITS THE CRITERIA
At last we cut ti the chase. I will give you the name of the company and tehn explain, point by poit why this is a great company to be with as a Network Marketer.
THE COMPANY

1] Do you use the telephone? Of course. The biggest problem some people have in NM is that they dislike selling. With some products like nutrtional products they have to keep being resold, you have to contact customers to see if they want more product. Not with this, customers remain customers, you don't remind people to use the phone right?
2] The compensation plan is one roughly 30-40% more than any other NM company. When you see me, or come to a meeting you will find out why.
